I managed to cast on the second Mint Twist sock. I was beginning to get worried that I might have developed Second Sock Syndrome. It was lovely to work with the yarn again. It's so soft and squishy and yummy. I really hope my friend enjoys the socks as much (if not more) than I've enjoyed working with the yarn. I've made a mental note that when I need more sock yarn (Ha! I have enough for my lifetime and then some!), I should get some from Tanis Fiber Arts.
As for the Browncoat Top, I've been slowly chugging along at it. The 3rd repeat of the eyelet section is almost complete. Only 5 more repeats to go! Husband has developed patience when I'm working on this project. He'll ask a question and knows to wait until I stop knitting to get his answer. So long as I stop somewhere logical, I can pick it up again. If I stop mid-pattern, I believe that's where I run into issues.
That's all for this week! Hopefully there may be pictures next week.
It's great when discernable progress is made isn't it? Even better when the yarn is such a pleasure to work with.
ReplyDeleteSo true on both counts!
DeleteIt's nice to see the progress, it can be tough some weeks when you know you've been working on a project but can't see much progress.
ReplyDeleteThat was the baby blanket I was working on last year. When I got close to the end, it felt like it would be days before I got anywhere on it. I'm hoping that doesn't happen with this top.
DeleteIsn't it great to have a husband who gets it!!
ReplyDeleteI may have had to explain to him that it makes me very frustrated and cranky if he tries to force a response while I'm in the middle of a pattern... :D
DeleteAh, progress :) Even small progress is still progress!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Heck, even starting can be huge progress.
DeleteThe entire range of TFA yarns are lovely. When I'm in the Purple Purl and see all of them they're pretty hard to resist!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness....I may not have needed to know that (though I'm not at all surprised by it).
DeleteThanks for the tip about the Tanis yarns. You're making good progress and I need to "stick" to things and finish up some WIP's that have been pestering me. I got sidetracked with gifts and I need to pull ahead! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou as well. I'm making myself stick to these before I get too side tracked. If I knew I could finish one of the June Cookie A socks by the end of the month, I would start them but so far it takes me about a month and a half to finish her socks.
DeleteSo glad you didn't end up with second sock syndrome. But if the fiber is that lovely, then it is a natural that you would want to continue working with it. Great progress and give hubby a big thumbs up for being so understanding. Wish all of them where this way.
ReplyDeleteMe too, especially since this is a gift for a birthday that happened in May...
DeleteWait, is there ever a time to NOT need more sock yarn? ;) Way to go to your husband for his patience! Takes some time to train them that way, doesn't it hehe at least it did in my house! ~ScarvesEtc on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteI'm apparently not suppose to buy yarn unless I have a project in mind for it....that doesn't always happen. I've also managed to fill all of my storage spaces for yarn with yarn, so I should at least knit some more things first. :D
DeleteHe learned very quickly after I got very annoyed that he should be patient with me. :)
Lucky you to have such a good husband! Mine will sometimes call out random numbers while I'm counting stitches...
ReplyDeleteDuring one of the many cast-ons for that project, Husband did start talking to me and it involved numbers (it was either street numbers or time or something) and I gave up and *may* have sarcastically thanked him for getting me off my count. He at least apologized and focused on driving until I finished casting on.
DeleteGood for you for recognizing the nasty SSS! Kudos...
ReplyDeleteI've read all about it! I'm sure I've even seen a symptoms list somewhere...
DeleteThose mini twist socks look amazing! Can't wait to see the finished project!
